Managing Targets

Targets are the items that need to be allocated or assigned to your resources (e.g., Tasks, Projects, Student Assignments, Events).

Managing targets is completely analogous to Managing Resources. You can:

  • Add Targets Manually: Use the New Target dialog to define names and attributes.
  • Import via Spreadsheet: Use the Import tool (CSV or Paste) to handle large datasets in seconds.

Key Difference: Size​

The primary difference between a target and a resource is the value used by the solver:

  • Size: Each target has a "Size" (e.g., 2 hours, 5 units, 1 seat).
  • The solver uses this size to ensure that the cumulative weight of targets assigned to a resource does not exceed that resource's Capacity.
